The Censor Board decided to edit the scene wherein the actress Rakul Preet was seen holding a bottle of alcohol and replaced it with a bouquet in a scene from Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film ‘De De Pyaar De’. The actress is seen holding a bottle of alcohol in a visual from a song “Vaddi Sharaban” to which the censor board directed the makers to modify the scene. The censor board approved the movie with a U/A certificate with alterations in 2 other dialogues.
The questions that arise with this decision of the CBFC is if it has done it again? Has the sanskaari censor board managed to stereotype women by denying their association with consumption of alcohol yet again? Will these iterations cause an outrage in the people? Only time will tell.
The movie also stars actress Tabu who plays Ajay Devgn’s ex-wife. The story revolves around a divorced middle-aged man (Ajay Devgn) falling in love with a woman almost half his age (Rakul Preet) and all the hassle that follows. Directed by debutant director Akiv Ali, the film is set to hit theatres across India on the 17th of May 2019
